Ultimate Sling Setup Buyer’s Guide: Dominate Your Carry Options

This Sling Setup Buyer’s Guide is designed to help augment our Tech Tip Video on YouTube where Josh Talked about how he sets up and uses his slings.

His top-rated sling is the Variable Retention Rifle Sling made by Tulsa Textile Solutions. We’re dealers for them, but if we don’t have it in stock, you can grab it straight from the source.

The Magpul MS1 is a mainstay and can be found almost anywhere, including at TFirearms. It’s a solid, robust sling with tons of options. The only drawback is that the slider can be a little stiff to adjust.

One of the best-padded slings on the market is the D3 from Haley Strategic. This sling is rock solid and has an excellent pedigree. If you prefer using a one-point sling, it has the option built in for that. However, the quick adjust feature isn’t as fast as we’d like, and it’s often out of stock, which makes it difficult to keep available even for us.

And of course, we have to mention the granddaddy of them all—the Viking Tactics V-Tac Padded Sling. This was high-speed back when Josh was capable of being high-speed, and the first adjustable sling he really messed with that he liked. The newer version is even better and still a solid option in 2024.

As always, we appreciate you checking out our content. If you’ve got suggestions for improvements or topics you want us to cover, drop them in the comments over on YouTube or Facebook. Thanks for the support!
